Hi There! My name is Aya and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas with 10 years of overall experience as a social worker. I have worked in the fields of community mental health, medical social work, social services, and physical and developmental disabilities. I am experienced in working with individuals who experience symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD and substance use disorder. I have also worked with individuals in crisis situations such as suicidal ideation, homelessness, physical and sexual abuse, substance use, terminal illnesses, and major life transitions.
For the last five years, I've worked as a community based mental health social worker for Austin's mental health authority. I feel fortunate having developed a supportive ongoing professional relationship with my clients. I consider myself incredibly blessed that they have let me into their lives and gave me the opportunity to accompany (and sometimes navigate) them along their journey.
I believe the most important component in therapy is a nurturing therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. As so, I strive to relate to my clients on both professional and personal levels. I use a strength-based, non-judgemental perspective, meaning I believe every individual is the best expert on themselves, however sometimes needs assistance identifying those strengths and applying them in real life to overcome obstacles. I help clients identify personal goals and take practical steps towards achievement. I utilize cognitive-behavioral techniques as well as active listening, motivational interviewing and dialectical behavioral therapy.
Life can become hectic, stressful or even devastating at times. Please know that you're not alone! I'm glad to be here for you to support you, explore your thoughts and feelings, sort through the difficulties you are dealing with right now to live a happy and fulfilling life. Everyone deserves to be accepted and understood.

Aya was extremely encouraging, understanding, and helpful. I really respected her emotional intelligence and instincts in knowing what care and support I needed at different points in my journey. I was very hesitant about therapy, and after meeting some other counsellors in person ( and it not working out), I felt maybe online was the way to go.
Aya and I clicked instantly. She understood my issues quite clearly, and even after a few month break- we were able to pick up right where we left off. Her expertise + support has changed my life. I honestly can't say enough about her. I highly recommend Aya, whether you are going through a hard time in your marriage, infertility, depression, anxiety, or a multitude of other things.. Aya is your gal!

I've spent the last year having Aya to support me. She treated me with respect, actively listened in each session, and gave me many tools to use in my life. When I started out working with Aya, I had some internal and external concerns in my life. We were able to discuss those things and come up with strategies to deal with my life situations.
Aya was helpful when it came to planning out my career as well. We discussed the possibilities and came up with goals that I am aiming towards now. She made me feel like my career goals are attainable.
I think the best part of working with Aya was just having her to speak with about anything. There were times I felt like I just vented about everything in my life. Aya listened to everything and approached those things with respect and meaningful insight. I really value Aya's expertise.
I highly recommend Aya. She is a mindful, patient, and knowledgeable person to have as your counselor!

Aya is the best! I couldn't have asked for a better counsellor. She is very supportive and understanding. She worked with me to overcome my issues, and implement practices and strategies to cope when those issues arise. Her patience, compassion, and sincerity always made it feel like a safe space. I looked forward to our sessions every week. She was also great with accommodating my schedule for our weekly sessions, despite the time difference between us. I am so grateful for all of her help! Thank you x 1000!

I really love the sessions with Aya, I made progress that I never thought I could! After years and years of battling mental health issues and looking for the right therapist for me, I found this platform and this amazing therapist who really understood my problems and battles and gave me the tools to fight them and she was always there to support me and give me the guidance that I needed.
I've been with Aya for a year now and I really don't see myself stopping therapy anytime soon, and it's all because of this therapist.
I'm really thankful that I took the chance in subscribing to online therapy, it changed my life for the better.

Aya has helped me get through a rough patch in my life after moving to a new city. I was struggling with relationship issues, anxiety and some depression throughout the winter months. Aya slowly but surely helped me go from insecure, anxious and withdrawn back to my old and positive self! Along the way, I also learned how to communicate effectively in my relationship and how to open up. Overall I would highly recommend Aya and am very glad I chose to try counseling with her.

Aya has been a supportive and understanding counselor. She was available and responsive throughout and made sure she gave me responses frequently and took interest in my progress. She didn’t judge me and our conversations whether Scheduled sessions or the messages I would send occasionally were a safe place for me to share all my thoughts unfiltered. Her sessions made me doubt myself less, made me realise of my strengths and a confident person.
I am lucky to have had Aya as a counselor and would recommend her to others also due to her professionalism and polite nature.
Wishing all the best.

I worked with Aya for 6 months. I was so pleased to be set up with her as she was very open and understanding. She made me feel comfortable to discuss tough topics I was facing that I felt I didn't know how to navigate. She told me it was ok to take time in coming to decisions so I didn't feel pressured. We discussed my feelings to help me better understand what I was going through. She provided me with worksheets to help me work through certain areas I was struggling with. I'm very grateful for her help.

Based on my work with my counselor we have identified triggers to my anxiety issues I was unable to recognize by myself, which led to actions that have been very helpful for me. I have recommended this to a friend and she is having a positive experience with this service too

I could not be happier with the sessions I have had with Aya in the past 7-8 months. I really appreciate how Aya uses examples from her personal experiences to my situation. It makes me feel like someone is able to relate to me and a lot of times I feel like I am talking to a friend, so I always feel very at home with Aya. I also appreciate that she always sounds happy to be hearing from me and that usually gives me the confidence and ease to talk openly with her.

Aya is amazing. Always listening in a non-judgmental way, so it makes me feel safe to share with her things I’ve never told my therapists or anyone before. I feel confident knowing she‘s there. And that I can always write between sessions. Thank you Aya! I really appreciate the work you put in.

Aya is extremely professional and accommodating. She is a fantastic listener and works through concerns with patience and clarity; she was able to pinpoint areas where I was holding myself back and had me work on these specific areas through guided exercises. She always replied promptly and sought to understand how I was feeling and work through it with me and gave me lots of time and space to express my feelings. I feel like I could talk to her about anything.

I started working with Aya during a highly stressful, anxiety-inducing time in my life where I was also facing a major life transition. Over several months, and through many complicated family & relationship matters, she was there as an encourager & supporter. I very much admire her gentleness, kindness, curiosity, and solid advice. She has been great with checking up on me during times when I am more quiet, always answers my messages promptly, and it’s been comforting to know that I have someone like her there when needed. Thank you Aya! :)

Aya is very easy to talk to and I appreciate her insight and help after the loss of my mother. She listens, she remembers what we spoke about from week to week, and she’s not judgmental in anyway. I feel confident in talking to her. I feel like it’s really helping me dissect and analyze my grief
