About Me

I am a mother of three. I grew up in the rough parts of South Central Los Angeles and as a Black woman and a Black Latina, I am especially fond of working with many people of color. My mother comes from Honduras. I am also trained in EMDR and I enjoy helping people overcome the trauma that they have experienced. I believe that a setback is a set up for a comeback. I know that our past does not have to define who we are. Also, as a Christian, I believe that we have the ability to overcome all things through Christ. It is an honor for me to help people because I believe that it is a special gift that was given to me. I am looking forward to working and supporting those that are placed in my life.
I have worked successfully with people who have struggles with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, work problems, spiritual concerns, and communication and boundary issues. I am familiar with CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT and other therapies. I have over 15 years providing therapy to people from all walks of life. My approach is direct and yet I am compassionate and validating to my clients. I tend to assign homework (if the client agrees) and I am didactic in my approach to therapy when needed.
