About me

Hello! My name is Bagmi Das and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in California. I have over nine years experience as a therapist, and have worked with college students, adults, and families. I earned my Master's degree in Counseling from San Diego State University in 2013 and my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Penn State in 2019. I am currently located in the Washington, D.C. area and am a faculty member at George Washington University. My clinical experience is working with anxiety, stress, systems of oppression, family systems, and sexual violence trauma.

As a therapist, I strongly believe that you are an expert on yourself and the protagonist in your own life story. I simultaneously understand that we all live in a society and the various systems around us impact who we become and our perceptions of ourselves. This means: there is nothing wrong with you. You do not need to change who you are, but there may be ways to affect change you seek in the way you interact with the world.

My goal, as a therapist, is to help you decipher the part these systems play and understand how to use your strengths and resources to open up possibilities ahead. Everything I do is collaborative; this means that I will learn from you, support your growth, and gently challenge your resistance. I look forward to meeting you and working together!
