My name is Elizabeth and I practice in South Carolina. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have an additional specialty certificate and license in Addictions Counseling (LAC, AADC). I have been working in the counseling field since 2004 and in the research field since 2006. I am a program manager by day and see clients individually as I am able at night.
As a clinical counselor, I have provided assessment, counseling, and case management to clients with various emotional, behavioral, and substance use concerns in the school setting, home, community, and in office. As a clinical trials researcher, I have utilized my counseling skills to provide assessment and counseling within the realms of the study. While I have worked with children, my focus has been working with teenagers, adults of any age, and married couples.
It is my belief that all persons should be treated fairly, regardless of their current legal, emotional, social or economic status. Treatment should be determined on an individual basis. Each client comes from a different background, has had different life experiences, and deals with events in his/her life differently.
I primarily practice from a Cognitive Behavioral Theoretical perspective in the counseling process. Other theoretical orientations and intervention may be used as it supports therapy in the Cognitive Theory perspective. I am passionate about helping individuals be their best self by focusing on self-care, advocacy, and grace. It takes immense courage to start your counseling journey and I am proud of you for taking the first step. I look forward to working with you.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Barbara Elizabeth Chapman. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Elizabeth has been a needed help to me as I have had to navigate a difficult relationship with a parent. She has offered suggestions that I have implemented. Her listening ears made it easier for me to feel less stress over the matter and to have confidence to interact appropriately. Thank you, Elizabeth.
