Barbara Harsh, LPCC
About me
I have my master’s degree in counseling with a dual track in mental health and substance abuse counseling. My credentials are as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor [LPCC] with a specialization in substance use and addiction along with clinical mental health. I work exclusively with adults from all backgrounds, including incarcerated, LGBT, and geriatric. I have five years of experience working with adults with disorders such as chemical dependence, schizophrenia, anger, depression, anxiety, and distress tolerance.
My counseling style is collaborative. I enjoy working with clients to help them find solutions to life problems that prevent them from living their lives as their best selves. My approach combines person-centered, solution-focused, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy counseling. I work with each person to individualize each session and treatment plan to be a true reflection of the client.
Asking for help is not easy. Sometimes it can be easier to open up to someone who is not a close friend or relative because there is less fear of being judged. I offer no judgments, just a place where two people can work on solving life’s problems.
I look forward to working with you.
