Hello! I am a License Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. I am also a Veteran of the United States Air Force. I spent the past four years working in an inpatient program for men coming out of prison and into community corrections. It has taught me about the will and drive to overcome addictions and family history/traumas. The men I worked with inspired me everyday.
My approach to counseling is person centered. You are in charge of what you want to work on. I am an expert of the process of change, but not on you. When we challenge our thoughts, our behavior and actions will change. This is usually the way I would challenge someone who would like to change whatever is causing them discomfort.
I don't give advice as that is not what therapists do. I work with you and help guide you to a better understanding of your issue and then we work together to find a plan to fix the discomfort you were experiencing.
I look forward to having the chance to work with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Barbara Parker. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I set my journal entries to share with Barbara and she always responds timely. I look forward to my sessions with her as I need help coping with some issues regarding my wife's illness.

Barbara has been amazing. She gives great suggestions and I always feel heard during our sessions.
I found Barbara after experiencing a less than ideal session with another therapist. Upon meeting Barbara, I knew immediately that she was a much better fit for me. She is full of patience, compassion, and genuine concern in regards to my needs. She listened to and guided me with the type of communication and feedback that was helpful and refreshing. I am excited to start my healing journey with Barbara and I'm looking forward to a future of peace.
So kind and helpful. Really listens and a large help

Barbara is very professional. Yes you have given me many ideals that I will use for the rest of my life. I wish I had spoken with someone like Barbara a while back ago, I really believe everything else would be much better.
Only had a few sessions with her but so far a good experience
Barbara is super helpful and listens to what I have to say. Instead of pushing for answers or context she really lets me say what I want and feel and gives me way to help me with certain things we discuss.
Barbara's approach to therapy is what i've been missing for the whole pandemic. She is thorough and patient. I love Barb, and am in a better place than when we started!w
I love Barbara
Barbara is a very down-to-earth and personable counselor while also maintaining strong professionalism. This combination makes it easier to relate to her, leaving you feeling very comfortable.
Barbara is a great listener and asks questions that help me question my own old, tired 'stories' that I tell myself. She has helped me look to the future and appreciate the present instead of wallowing in the past. She has assisted me in appreciating my small successes along my bumpy road of recovery from addiction.
Barbara provides a safe place and shows a genuine interest in you. Although we don’t meet often she has a great recall on things we have talked about in previous sessions.
I love Barbara. Easy to talk to, very genuine and is clear on guidance. She centers everything back to you and how you’re feeling.
