Barbara Vitalis

About Me

Hi, I'm Barbara Vitalis, My goal is to provide assistance and guidance to you in your path to change and self-discovery. I have 15+ years of experience treating mental health, SUD, and Dual Diagnosis in a variety of settings such as inpatient, Medically Assisted Treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs , and Intensive Outpatient Prpgrams.

I work with those who are experiencing anxiety/depression whose world may have become smaller and has begun to disengage with those around them. In addition I specialize with those that have been dually diagnosed and have found that their lives have become unmanageable as a result of their mental illness/substance use. I also address co-dependency, anger management, and communication skills.

I use a variety of methods depending on the individual. When first meeting a client I collaborate with them on what they would like to focus on and what methodology would be the best fit. I'm adept in MI, ACT, CBT, DBT, and SFBT. I use mindfulness/grounding skills as a tool and tend to have clients practice skills in between sessions.

Barbara is great for me. We are similar in age, geographic location so she gets things that are somewhat unique to my situation. The question "would you recommend" should be expanded to qualify the rating. I would give her a 10 for some people but certainly not for all. Anyone with a similar profile to me, I would certainly be very comfortable recommending her.
