Hi, I'm Ben, and I'm a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, with over three years experience of seeing clients through volunteering at local agencies and running my own Private Practice. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, bereavement, anxiety, relationship issues, self worth, problems at work and issues with drug/alcohol use (both those currently working on their own addictions and those whose loved ones are addicted). Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent most my career working in financial services.
My therapy style is warm, approachable and without judgement. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity and compassion. My approach is predominantly person centred, although also incorporates existential and solution focused approaches, I believe you have the capacity within yourself to overcome your troubles and I see my role as to walk alongside you, supporting you, encouraging you - maybe even challenging you - as you find your way to unlocking your true self.
