About me

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Master Addiction Counselor in the state of Georgia. I have been working in mental health for approximately 20 years primarily with adults who have issues coping with the challenges of life. For the past 11 years, I have worked extensively with military families assisting them in meeting the demands and challenges of life in the armed forces. Along with the work I do with military families, I provide individual counseling for adults who have varied therapeutic needs to include but not limited to life adjustment issues, addictions, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict and trauma related issues. Women’s health is my passion. I conduct emotional healing lectures and groups for women who are struggled to heal and recover from past hurts.
My Therapeutic approach is holistic and personal centered. I am a stronger believer of the mind, body, spirit connection. Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Solutions Focus and Trauma Focus are some of the therapies I utilize in counseling sessions to assist individuals, couples and families improve their mental health.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and became certified to teach middle grades. After several years of teaching, I decided to follow my passion to become a mental health counselor. I obtained my Master of Education degree in Community Counseling and my Educational Specialist degree in Counseling Education. Over the years, I have worked as a teacher, high school guidance counselor, domestic violence victim’s advocate, addiction counselor, child and youth behavioral counselor and military family counselor. Helping others achieve their mental health goals and improve their holistic health is my passion.

Mrs Wilkerson is amazing I reached out for help and she over-delivered on my expectations. It was a pleasure to have her as my guide through a very unsettling time on my life.
