Thank you for considering me to work alongside with you in your journey towards self-discovery and positive well-being. It is not only a challenging first step in seeking help, it is also an incredibly brave step to take as well. I applaud you and from this point forward, I will strive to offer you compassion, empathic listening, and for you to feel supported and at ease.
A little background about myself, I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Hawaii (PSY1787) and California (PSY31453) with 20 years of experience providing assessment and therapy. I have a Master of Arts degree in Psychology (Marriage and Family Therapy Emphasis) from Pepperdine University and a Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from Hawaii School of Professional Psychology (APA-Accredited).
My clinical experience and training covers a wide range––from infants to adults to include cognitive and neural developmental research; neuropsychological testing, psychoeducational testing, consultation, and counseling in school and private practice settings; counseling active duty military, veterans and family members in military hospital settings; in addition to employee assistance counseling, family counseling and crisis counseling.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic, collaborative and grounded in evidenced-based approaches; however, driven by your specific needs. As such, I rely on various therapeutic approaches: Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Biopsychosocial, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. My experience in these domains may be an asset to our therapeutic relationship since your time is valuable and as such my goal is to provide sound, efficient and solution-focused interventions.
Life is stressful and difficult at times and even more so during natural life transitions and the unexpected turns and events that are inherent in almost every journey. I believe my clients are innately resilient, possess the capacity towards growth and change, and seek to thrive. As such, our work together will be focused on gaining a better understanding of how your experiences impact you and how to utilize your inherent strengths. My ultimate goal will be to support you and help you find the most effective tools––so that you can navigate smoothly throughout your journey.
