Beth Kaufman, LPC
About me
I am a counselor and music therapist licensed in Virginia with ten years of experience in my role as a helping professional. I invite people to soulfully nurture and explore the stories emerging in life through mindfulness, guided imagery, music, and self-compassion. I have worked with individuals with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, self-worth, relationships, stress and chronic burnout, difficult transitions, and grief. I see my role as that of a guide - you are the expert on your life and I will offer deep listening to get you closer to how you want to be and feel.
My counseling style is warm and nurturing. I draw inspiration from the natural world, believing that everything we need to know about life can be understood through the cycles and seasons of nature. I also incorporate feminist principles in my work, helping you identify larger cultural systems and beliefs that impact your experiences. Through all modalities, I seek to create space for healing, connection, and growth.
It takes courage to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Beth is the utmost professional and truly a wonderful therapist. She really listens to what you say, and is so intuitive. I feel incredibly comfortable speaking about difficult subjects with her, she has provided me with some very valuable insights.

Beth has been amazing. I feel like I accomplish more with her in 45 minutes than I would talking to anyone else. I've worked with previous counselors who didn't really get to know how I work as fast as she has. It's only been a few weeks but I already have some more coping mechanisms and tools to try alongside a better understanding of how to get to the root of any lingering issues I may be experiencing.

From the start, Beth has been nothing short of great and communicative. She has made me feel heard and understood while working through some of these new emotions/feelings.

Beth has been very easy to open up to and supportive! I've really found my experience with her so far to be beneficial. She was clear at the beginning on how often to expect communication and on which days which I really appreciate. Highly recommend
