About Me

Hi. My name is Beth and I have been a social worker for 20 years, primarily I have worked as a therapist. I have worked with persons who are dealing with life problems whether basic or complex. I am believer in the person. Help me help you to help yourself. Some times we can get so caught up in life that we forget we've got the strengths we do to pull ourselves out of bad situations--until someone comes along and reminds us, the answer was there all along.
My focus is you. I want to go where you want to take me, I am a client centered therapist who utilizes motivational interviewing and solution focused techniques. The most important part of therapy is the rapport between myself and you, having that connection is the key to success.

I have worked with persons with and without diagnosable mental health difficulties including substance abuse and trauma. I believe in mindfulness based techniques, i am a strong supporter of journaling--though realize and respect that it isn't for everyone. I believe we all have the power to heal ourselves, it is just that sometimes we need some help, and there's nothing wrong with that. To come to a place like this and ask for help is a huge step, how brave you are.

Beth is an excellent therapist. She is an excellent listener who offers many different coping mechanisms for whatever I am dealing with. I never feel judged by her and she is just very laid back but also challenges my thinking, which is super appreciated!

Beth is fantastic. I started with her upon my primary relationship breakup/heartbreak. Each session has helped. She demonstrates an open mind and keen skill at meeting me where I am. She listens then reflects back to me what she heard in a manner that helps in my despair and confusion, and come to solutions/tactics for coping, healing, growing.

Beth laughs at all my bad jokes and is an excellent listener. She is direct and to the point without ever making me feel judged or criticized. Beth Leary is a very understanding and supportive therapist. Although I haven’t been using BetterHelp for very long I can already feel how much it has helped me by just having someone there to listen to you when we you need it and help you realize something or recommend something worth doing.
