About Me
Hello! My name is Betsy Narveson. I know that the thought of talking with a therapist can be uncomfortable, or even downright scary! Going out of your comfort zone is hard, but you can feel good about taking action to start to create the life you want! I hope that, as we get to know each other, you can develop trust in my genuine concern and compassion, and feel safe and supported as we work together toward your goals, whatever they may be.
We’ll work collaboratively, based on your preferences and goals. Beyond ensuring that you feel comfortable working with me, my next priority is for you to feel that our time together is productive, that we are getting steadily closer to what you were seeking when you decided to try talking with a therapist. Therefore, I prefer to use approaches that are evidence-based and solution-focused.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Florida, and my graduate degree there as well, in Marriage and Family Therapy. My work in community mental health as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist has allowed me to work with a wide variety of presenting problems. I have counseled both children and adults, in individual and family contexts. The most common concerns I have dealt with are youth behavioral troubles, stress, relationship issues, parenting difficulties, anxiety, family conflicts, coping with life changes, and depression. Relationships and parenting issues have always been of particular interest to me, and are even more intriguing to me now that I am married and have two children of my own!
I would love to get to know you and assist you with whatever you are facing!

Best app ever
Friendly, knowledgeable, supportive, responsive, extremely helpful, thorough.
Betsy has been extremely helpful in helping me work through my anxieties and to understand areas of improvement. She provides a safe space to feel comfortable and a guiding hand to walk through any concerns. I appreciate her candor and expert knowledge in her field.
She’s the absolute best
Right away I felt comfortable talking to Betsy. She let me approach counseling in a way that would make me feel the most comfortable. In our sessions I feel like she knows just the right questions to ask. We cover things I didn't think would be as important as they have been on my path to improving my mental health.
I haven’t been with Betsy long, but I can already see that it is helping me change my mindset. I still have a bit of work to do but it’s so easy to work with Betsy, I don’t feel overwhelmed at all. She’s been amazing so far.
Friendly, caring and would highly recommend!
I think she is a great listener and understands the issues that I wiuld like to tackle and helps me with articles and conversations that relate to my life
Betsy has been kind and understanding in my two sessions with her so far, but has also had a ton of advice to offer which I feel has jump started my efforts towards getting better. I am very happy with her counseling so far and am looking forward to future sessions.
Betsy is calm, compassionate, listens without judgement and has great wisdom. I highly recommend her.
