About Me

Hi and Welcome,

I am a Marriage and Family therapist, licensed in the State of California, since 2002. I graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from John F. Kennedy University, Pleasant Hill, California. I received my M.A. in Clinical Psychology and a Post-Masters in Advanced Clinical Psychology from the same institution. In addition, I hold a Certificate in Anxiety Disorders from UC Berkeley Extension.

I have been in Private Practice for over 19 years in Walnut Creek, California. I work with clients on a variety of issues but specialize in helping clients with obesity issues, anxiety disorders, including OCD, PTSD, trauma, and exposure work for phobias.

For the past 15 years, and concurrently with my private practice, I have conducted Anxiety Workshops for the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group, at several facilities in the Bay Area. I also conducted Weight Management/Lifestyle Change workshops in Kaiser, Walnut Creek. In addition, during the past 16 years, I have led an assertiveness and self-esteem group for women with overweight issues. Teaching and facilitating these workshops exposed me to a wide range of psychological, emotional, and cultural issues which have enabled me to help my clients with greater confidence and understanding.

In my work with clients, I use several leading psychological modalities and evidenced-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT}, Exposure, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy.

I would describe my counseling style as warm, empathic, and interactive. My approach to therapy is client-centered whereby I make a consistent effort to meet each client where they are. My approach is different with every individual, depending on their specific needs.
