About me

Overwhelmed. Detached. Lost. Do you feel like you are living in survival mode? Sometimes in life feelings of hopelessness, anxiety, or low self-worth can prevent you from living a fully engaged life. You feel derailed by intense feelings and thoughts that keep you trapped in a cycle that often leads to self-destructive behaviors and coping patterns. And yet, change is possible! I can come alongside and help share strategies and coping skills to help you reclaim your life. I have experience in helping people find healing in the areas of addiction, depression, trauma, grief, loss, anxiety, family dynamics, codependency, relationship issues, and co-occurring disorders. Using an integrative, holistic, multicultural, approach in treatment I can assist you in creating change in your life. This means I begin where you are and tailor the treatment approach to your needs while being sensitive to how your individual cultural identities and lifestyle choices impact your experience. I primarily use evidence-based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused counseling.
Through counseling sessions, I will partner with you to provide accountability for you to grow emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. I can help you with tools to manage emotions effectively, challenge faulty thinking patterns, and reconnect with your values and with people important to you. I am compassionate, supportive, non-judgmental, honest, and direct. Therapy works best in the context of a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. My hope is for us to work together to explore, discover and make changes so that you are living an intentional and meaningful life
I look forward to working with you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Beverly Zimmerman. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

She is very straight forward and very knowledgeable. She understands when things are hard to talk about and won’t flood or push to far and is careful with not retraumatizing. I was able to trust her quickly which is a very hard thing for me to do.

Beverly is amazing! I am the type of person that likes to understand the science behind this and answer the big “Why?” And she leads with the science!
She also was able to tell me within one session something about myself that has never clicked for me. I instantly knew that I found the right person!
