Hello, my name is Billie Trahan, LPCC. I have been a counselor for 17 years, with experience regarding a wide variety of issues, including, but not limited to, trauma, family issues, domestic violence, and mood disorders. I have worked in a range of clinical settings and with all ages and populations. I have extensive experience in trauma related issues, primarily abuse. I have worked as an on-site therapist in school settings, providing trauma based debriefing and grief counseling to students after traumatic events in the school or with fellow students. I also have experience in working with adults, particularly regarding mood disorders, substance abuse and trauma. My clinical approach is primarily cognitive behavioral therapy; ultimately, I always meet the client where they are currently to work through whatever issues that the client feels should be addressed.
Deciding to begin counseling can be an anxiety provoking situation. I will do everything I can to make sure that this experience is as comfortable for the client as possible in order to get the most out of the counseling sessions. I look forward to talking with you!

Billie is kind, caring, compassionate, and so knowledgeable! If therapy feels scary to you, she is the PERFECT person. She doesn't have a scary bone in her body. She will make you feel completely comfortable with everything you tell her, which for me is completely amazing. I feel like I've told her some very awful, strange and "crazy" things, and she always makes me feel like it's all OK, like we'll find a way through it all, and like I'm not "crazy," I've just spent my life trying to find ways to cope with desperate situations. She is calming, reassuring, and so, so, SO HELPFUL!

I've been working with Billie for the last several months and she's literally helped me turn my life around! For the first time in my life, I was really struggling with anxiety and depression due to the pandemic, wildfires, social strife, etc. in 2020. My mental health was impacting my family and work so I turned to Betterhelp. As a result of working with Billie, I have been able to function better in all areas of life. I feel like I have more control over my emotions and am better equipped to handle any challenges ahead. Thank you, Billie and Betterhelp!

I love Billie, she responds to all my messages so fast I feel like I’m almost talking to a professional friend ! It’s such a loving and non-judgmental safe space , I took a break from therapy for awhile and looking back I’m not sure why I did , I feel immediately better know someone cares and wants to help in the best way. I’m very thankful for her and her energy couldn’t ask for a better therapist!
