The philosophy of outpatient services is that all people can recover from behavioral health and substance abuse issues through effective treatment in the least restrictive and most convenient environment as possible. The goal of counseling is to promote emotional or psychological change to alleviate behavioral health and/or substance abuse problems in a manner that is trauma-informed/sensitive and culturally competent. I provide counseling for multiple mental health issues.
I work with depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, co-occurring issues with substance abuse, PTSD, and also Christian Counseling. I have dealt with hard juvenile cases and have experience dealing with sexual offenders. I am a former youth pastor, so I have experience dealing with Christian counseling issues. I have been in the helping professions for several years and am now focusing on providing professional counseling services. I am an LPC in the State of Oklahoma (License # 5153). I have dealt with conditions as simple as depressive disorder all the way through all types of Schizophrenic issues. I have worked with children, parents, couples, and adult clients. I have performed many pre-marital counseling sessions. I am also working toward being a licensed alcohol and drug counselor and spend a vast majority of time dealing with co-occurring issues. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Nouthetic (Biblical) Counseling techniques. I have training on the national level for Trauma-Focused CBT from The National Child Traumatic Stress Network completing both online and in-person. I have the skills to help you overcome these issues.
My degree in counseling was a dual degree in substance abuse and professional counseling. I use these skills, plus the training that I go to, to help clients overcome the coping issues and start the healing process. My goal is to help you get to the base coping issue(s) and become independent of using me. In my experience in traditional outpatient counseling, my goal is to get the client to be able to cope with their problems as soon as possible.
