I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Drury University and a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Washington. Also, I am a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors.
I have experience in nearly every avenue of the mental health field - all with the intent of gaining experience to run my own private practice. I've done that successfully for 5 years.
Though betterhelp offers video & phone sessions, those aren't options I offer. Most of my colleagues do. I'd be happy to message with you - but if you need a more interactive experience, another therapist would likely be a better fit.
- Stress, Anxiety
- Intimacy-related issues
I also have experience in Addictions, LGBT, Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Trauma and abuse, Sleeping disorders, Parenting issues, Anger management, Self esteem, Career difficulties

I was very nervous about this whole thing, but Bo has been a comfort.
Bo gets to know you in depth so he can be in touch with you. I have found easy to open up to him because he took the time to get me as an individual. I believe he can help because he sincerely cares for his clients progress.
I had been through so much pain as loosing both parents a few months apart was extremely painful, and I was on the bricks of trying to cut my life out too. Bo has listened to me, and given me the right counseling ,and as made me into a much better and more positive person. He’s amazing and he cares about everything you go through.
I’ve had nothing but the exact support I’ve been looking for from Bo Christal. Thank you for all you do at BetterHelp.com
Bo is an excellent sounding board. They are always supportive and I feel truly heard. Their responses are thoughtful, succinct and not filled with suggestions. I am truly thankful for Bo’s expertise.
He takes the time to respond to everything that you say even if you're rambling, and shows that he's really paying attention. His analogies for emotional wellbeing are extremely helpful.
My counselor has made me feel like my issues are common, understandable, and that I'm not alone. He has offered advice that is logical, encouraging, and reasonable for me to incorporate into my daily life. I'm learning that I am a work in progress... and that it is okay to feel a bit of a mess sometimes while I work through this rough patch of my life.
