Brad Harbin

About Me

My name is Brad Harbin and I am a Somatic Psychotherapist. I am licensed in the state of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist ( LMFT) and Register Telehealth provide in the State of Florida. I have been working in the healing arts for 25 yrs as a massage therapist and yoga instructor - utilizing my love for the body and its innate wisdom, I decided to move deeper into the psyche/body by completing my MA in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Somatic Psychotherapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies (C.I.I.S.).

My approach to therapy originates from the body. Our stories brings us to one another and as we explore these stories and their connection with breath, movement, felt sense, and mindfulness we can then create a path towards our goals. We will spend time building rapport and establishing a relationship that will yield a clearer understanding of the issues that have brought you here -and then create goals that will walk you through. Building on your strengths and skills we will cultivate awareness, understanding, and gratitude - developing strong communication skills, and coping strategies to create a new narrative for your life.

I work with individuals navigating; depression and anxiety due to life circumstances and transitions, grief and loss, finding sense of self and agency - career, relationships, history of abuse/trauma as well as substance use/abuse. I work with couples in strengthening relationships by building strong communication skills, understanding who we are as individuals and how that overlaps into the "we" space. I offer premarital counseling and work within the L.G.B.T.Q.I.A. community with individuals, couples and a variety of relationship constellations navigating issues around "Coming out" , creating families, exploring self in culture as L.G.B.T.Q.I.A., religious trauma/abuse. I am Poly/Kink friendly.

Utilizing traditional psychodynamic framework, we will look at the larger back drop of who you have grown to be and how you live our life in this body - which I believe holds the keys to wholeness. Lets meet and have a conversation. We will build skills, develop resources for support and begin to create change utilizing what is already within you. Thank you for taking time to be curious with me and I look forward to meeting you.
