I am an Art Therapist and Counselor based in Portland, OR. I have been counseling adult clients since 2006 when i graduated from Marylhurst University with my masters in Art Therapy and Counseling. During my masters program I worked at a sliding scale counseling clinic, in a women's prison, and in a women's shelter. Since graduation I have had a private practice within a clinic called Owl's Nest Therapy Joint. In 2015 I began to supervise unlicensed therapists at the clinic and still provide clinical supervision for interns. I currently I have a telehealth practice and work with clients via phone, video, and email. I am a mother of two and my family and I travel often and spend time in different locations throughout the year.
In my work with clients I employ meditation and mindfulness techniques, I use somatic approaches, and offer art therapy directives if a client is interested. I am a psychodynamic therapist which means I use the therapeutic relationship in therapy as well as delve into family history, childhood experiences, and life long beliefs and coping skills in order to help client have a deeper understanding of themselves as well as a deeper self compassion. I find that it is in this process that clients find the insights and strengths to make long lasting changes in their lives.
I have worked with folks struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, terminal illness, relationship issues, parenting challenges, tech/screen addiction, etc. I find this work incredibly rich and meaningful. I am so very honored to be trusted by my clients and to be allowed access into their inner worlds. My clients constantly impress and amazing me!

I am glad I was paired up with Bren Boseman. She understands me and knows how to get me going in the right direction. I really appreciate her insight and have recommended her to others.
Bren is kind, empathetic, and gently holds me accountable. I really appreciate her approach and guidance.
Bren has been very insightful and really listens and somehow remembers all the details of my situation. I have really benefited from working with her and would definitely recommend her to others.
Bren is extremely helpful and attentive. She frequently follows up on our conversations by sending me resources and articles relating to what we talked about. She is the first counselor I have ever spoken to that feels helpful.
Bren has been an amazing listener and has provided me with an amazing amount of support during one of the worst crisis of my life. I get so terrified and scared of the situation I'm in and she is a great beacon of hope and she reminds me that I'm not a bad person and helps me to make better choices. I could not recommend her more to anyone going through extreme trials of life, like I am. I do not know where I would be or what I would do without her wise and kind counsel.
Following a personal loss, I took the advice of family and friends to find counseling, but I had to find it in a way that felt comfortable to me. BetterHelp paired me with Bren Boseman who has been helping me wrestle with so many of my thoughts and stresses and frustrations through this time. Also as an art therapist, she has been able to connect with me on a personal creative level, which I have found very reassuring. I would reccomend her to anyone who may have creative influences, but is also dealing with emotional hardship.
We just got started but I appreciate Bren’s responses. I feel comfortable with her so far.
Bren helped me when I thought I couldn't be helped, when I was at my lowest point. She helped me bring myself out of that funk and believe in myself more. I'm very grateful and I hope I can continue her services.
Bren is very helpful, easy to talk to, empathetic, she has a wealth of knowledge to make excellent suggestions and a great listener.
Bren has been an incredible resource for me. She is very compassionate and supportive.
Bren is a warm soul who has great insight into life and love. I recommend her strongly to anyone in need of therapy.
Bren takes the time to really understand me. She asks the right questions while offering support and guidance. I appreciate that she is patient with me and is also always quick to reply. I feel very supported with her.
Bren is a great listener and so good at honing in on what your needs are. She is extremely respectful and offers many useful tools to use in approaching aspects in your life that you may be struggling with without being bossy or judgmental. She is very compassionate and it is clear she has experience in her field.
