About Me

Hello! I am a licensed professional counselor in Texas as well as an Iowa licensed mental health counselor. Currently, I am based in Austin, Texas. With over 12 years of experience in the mental health field, I have worked with clients who have experienced a wide range of concerns that include anxiety/stress, depression, coping with life changes, compassion fatigue and co-occurring chemical dependency. I also have experience with trauma/abuse, eating disorders and bipolar disorder.

My counseling style is person centered. You will be respected and empowered to reach your goals and desires. I bring a somatic approach to my sessions; focusing on the mind, body, spirit and emotions. I incorporate cognitive behavioral, mindfulness and solution focused modalities. The great joy of my work is assisting others live to their fullest potential.

You are taking a courageous step in asking for help in overcoming a struggle, seeking skills for a life transition or working on coping skills. Whatever your current situation, I would be delighted to walk with you through this season of your life.

Thank you for your consideration.

Brenda sees me for who I am and has done nothing but serve me during our time together.

She’s perceptive and has impeccable timing, choosing her moments wisely. Never before has someone been so in tune with my feelings.

What she says creates forward momentum that not only progresses what we’re doing together, but also creates a platform for me to use during my time outside of the session.

Historically (with therapy) I regress almost immediately. I’ll go to sleep, wake up and the work has been undone.

With Brenda, that’s no such thing.

I’m able to reflect and land in the moments she created during our sessions and feel the same sense of clarity as when it originally happened.

Now I know how to give myself permission to feel okay.

I’m 28, haven’t been able to do that until Brenda.
