Brenden Dix

About Me

I'm a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in private practice in the state of New Mexico. Feel free to learn more about me at

My experience helping others involves working with individuals who struggle with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, trauma & PTSD, low self-esteem, identity issues, grief & loss, parenting issues, spiritual emergency, and terminal illness. I also have experience with mood and personality disorders, though I'm not fond of diagnostic labels. My therapeutic approach is very integrative, gentle yet technical, trauma informed, and centers around cultivating deep personal transformation & healing. I believe in harnessing personal strengths and utilizing what already works, not what's broken or lacking. From my experience, I also feel strongly that everyone is unique and deserves to be treated as such. Sometimes people benefit from solving a current problem or situation which requires a more solutions focused approach while others really want to peel back the layers and dive down the rabbit hole to better understand themselves and to fix unhealthy behavioral or relational patterns. Together, we'll figure out what your needs and goals are, otherwise, it's up to you how far you'd like to travel. I also utilize cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and somatic experiencing (body-centered) approaches in therapy sessions.

I absolutely love witnessing the first time someone experiences a new positive emotion that has long since been deemed impossible. I get goosebumps when seeing someone feel truly empowered to overcome difficult life challenges, memories or experiences. Helping others move towards wholeness and discover their true self is my passion and I can't wait to have you get there.

I really enjoyed and appreciated working with Brenden. I really felt understood and validated and was offered great guidance and helpful advice I needed to go through and overcome different challenges in my life. He's very kind, compassionate and understanding - he is very clear and descriptive in his examples which helped me a lot both in live chatting and emailing. His calm and cool nature was very reassuring. I highly recommend him.

Brenden Dix (M.A., LPCC) has been a great counselor for me since I have started BetterHelp. I was struggling with some issues that needed to be sorted out after being repressed for so long and he calmly and coolly took strides to understand where I was coming from and the best way to help me. Great counselor all around, and would highly recommend him.
