About Me

Hello, my name is Brent Berman. I graduated from Barry University with my MSW in 2011 and have been licensed SW11714 in Florida since 2013. I began my career at the Trauma Resolution Center where I helped individuals reprocess their trauma’s using Traumatic Incident Reduction. I transitioned to Carrfour residential program that was under the TRC umbrella. At Carrfour, I created the curriculum, facilitated groups daily and treated the dual-diagnosis clients with individual therapy and EMDR. When I relocated to Palm Beach Gardens, I continued my career at Ambrosia Treatment Center. I helped grow the trauma track, facilitated process groups, provided individual counseling and EMDR. Before relocating to Lighthouse Point, I was owner and primary therapist at my own private practice, which focused on depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and addiction in Jupiter, Fl. I use a combination of evidenced based practice, Buddhist psychology and result-oriented interventions.

I created a five pronged approach, I helped my clients reprocess their life trauma’s, inspired accountability, implement self–love practices, helped them heal deeply using forgiveness or letting go and develop new positive coping skills which helps to enhance their daily lives, and begins the healing process. If needed I can help my clients shed the victim/ martyr identity by utilizing these tools. I am certified and trained in two evidence based trauma therapies EMDR and TIR, which reprocess trauma. I am also a certified Compassionate Bereavement provider. I have worked extensively with the LGBTQ community and have experience working with families of transgender youth and adults. I have a holistic approach and often incorporate mindfulness, breathing and meditation. Through my experience I know there is no one size fits all approach so I design the treatment plan and decide what interventions to use based on your needs. I know that’s a lot so let me know if you have any questions, I just wanted you to know my qualifications. I look forward to potentially working with you.

Immediately upon talking to Brent online, he put me at ease. I was amazed at how quickly he got to the crux of the issues with me and he demonstrated very quickly how much he understood what was important to me and what I needed to work on. I also felt like he was really going at my pace which initially was very fast, However I feel he would match my pace, if I wanted to explore a couple of issues a bit more in-depth.
The books that Brent has recommended have been life changing. Again, they demonstrate how much he has listened and understood what I needed. I look forward to my sessions with him each week, as I feel I’m in control and it’s exciting to see what will come up in the sessions. I feel it’s a very good financial investment in myself and I should’ve signed up a long time ago.

Brent is totally fabulous. I had alot of problems, and he helped me tackle pretty much each and every one of them. He has given me so many tools to deal with stress, generalized anxiety and OCD. He addresses my issues very specifically, reassured me, motivated me and really lifted my spirit. He developed alot of strategies to help me deal with negative thoughts and obsessive ideas and now i feel so much more free and confident that these ideas dont have a hold on me. He is really experienced, and his words have that smooth flow towards me. He rearranged my concepts which helped alot in resolving alot of my internal conflicts. He helped me feel normal again and that i can do any and everything. He also recommends really excellent books that have helped so much down the road, books with which i can identify with every word. The experience has been really wonderful. I now feel alot more comfortable in my own skin.

I’ve had a few sessions with Brent and honestly I wish I started way earlier. He is a great listener and offers good advice. Because of him I am slowly able to view situations from a different perspective. Looking forward to more sessions of growing and learning.

When I started I had my doubts with how far online counseling could actually help me, also considering that english is not my native language but Brent replies within a day to any journal entries or messages which gives me a constant feeling of support!

Brent Berman understands my problem, listen to me and sends me a lot of very useful forms that make me think about my problem from different views. I'm from another country, but I prefer an American psychologist of many reasons. Brent are more direct and compassionate than psychologists in my country. And also have more useful forms!
