I had never had any sort of counseling before so didn’t know what to expect really. But Brett was great, we addressed my main issue which was very situational and did a lot of exercises and worksheets to get me working on better mental habits to help prevent anxious and negative thoughts and feelings. I feel confident moving forward with new knowledge about how to keep my mind healthier.

Brett is a pretty easy guy to talk to, he makes it easy to discuss your problems and provides great activities to help resolve whatever issues. I was a client with Brett for two months and I've definitely left in a much better place emotionally. Through Brett I have learnt strategies to tackle my anxieties on my own and I've moved pass the emotional rut I was in at the beginning. Trust the process of therapy, trust your therapist and it should be a great experience!

Brett is amazing, as soon as I start Brett made me feel like I was talking to a friend. It was easy to talk about anything and everything. In the moments I didn’t feel strong enough to move forward he was there to remind me how capable I am. Whether through a patient talk or a virtual kick in the butt he made sure I kept move forward. He gave me the tools and helped me practice the techniques to ensure that no matter what life throws at me I able to make it through.

I started working with Brett when I was at a very stressful and anxiety-ridden stage of my life, with very low self-confidence. I was initially unsure about counselling but Brett immediately made me feel comfortable and welcome. He used mindfulness techniques and self reflection to help me understand the root causes of my anxieties and how to over come them. He is direct, honest and respectful. He does require you to put in work every week. But I feel I understand myself much better now because of it. He was also very accommodating of my schedule. I am much more happier and confident person now because of his help. I would recommend Brett to anyone looking for a frank, honest and respectful therapist.

Brett has been excellent. He will make you put in the work but every session I came to understand myself more. His approach uses mindfulness techniques and self reflection. He worked around my schedule meeting with me afterwork and even on Sunday when needed. He has been nothing but supportive and helpful. I am truly grateful for all that he has done for me.

Brett is the Bomb! He will tell it like it is. lol! Short and to the point, he will have you looking at your situation in a brand new light. He doesn't support self pity and will have you moving and doing what you need to do! His motto is "get up and go" I loved that because I'm the type that needs a pity party then a hug and chocolate, lol! I'm looking at myself in a whole new light. I'm telling myself "girl, you better get up and go" lol "you got this" I love it, I look forward to our meetings, he don't tell you what you want to hear,he tell you what you need to hear. The worksheets he provide is so beneficial and awakening. I needed this support system. I'm not sure how I would have made it through my classes or pandemic without him. I go in sloppy and come out the meetings laughing, happy, determined and ready!

I’ve been working with Brett for two months now and I’m really impressed about the progress I’ve made so far. His authentic and positive character makes it easy to build a trusting atmosphere during sessions. I really appreciate his honesty as well as his ability to make me laugh during our talks - it just makes working on sensitive topics much easier.
I already notice major changes in my daily life and I’m looking forward to the next steps we will take throughout further therapy. I can highly recommend working with Brett to anyone who is looking for an honest, appreciative and experienced therapist.

Brett has been phenomenal in bringing me back up where I needed to be socially and mentally. I thought the world is against me for a while and slowly but surely I felt back in charge of my situation, and I used the methods he thought me to gain control of my life. I’m currently in the career path of Law Enforcement, and I would recommend anyone in this career field to use Brett!

Before Brett, I had been trying to work with local counsellors at a local mental health facility and never really felt supported or safe to share what I needed to work through. After my first session with him, he managed to make me feel that it was worth reaching out for help again when I was losing faith in professional help for my mental health. With his help and support, I feel like I've managed to turn the corner and start a new chapter with the tools he introduced me to.

Brett is a very good counselor, he was super helpful in my journey of overcoming addiction and all the troubles that came along with it. I never felt talked down too, in fact he quite often talked to me on my level. He's a good guy who will help you through your struggles and teach you ways for you to help yourself, very happy with my time with him!

I would recommend Brett to anyone and everyone. He's helped me restructure my coping mechanisms using healthy and productive tools. Through the adoption process, through my wife's terminal illness, through the death of my mother and through my own illness. The keyword being through, not around or between but straight through the chaos. He helped me to the point that I no longer need him to get me through. Though I will miss our chats that were full of laughs. Thank you Brett. I consider you mentor, a coach and a friend. If a crisis arises out of the forces of chaos. I know who to call on.

It only took me a month to get better with the help of Brett. He's very kind and helpful. He made me feel confident and taken care of. I truly thank him a lot for helping me. I just wish he had more time to counsel, but the rest is just perfect!

From my first session Brett D'Aoust, made sure to hear me out. He did not judge and nor push me in any way that would have harmed me or made me feel worse. He was not afraid to point out my mistakes or my faults during the sessions in the beginning which is something I appreciate, since I do not want to feel that he is being supportive just because of his position.
Using the different tools that he provided at some of the sessions, he helped point things such as mindfulness, meditation, positive traits and so forth. These tools ,while I did not use them everyday, did help bringing in some new thoughts and worth onto my self.
During the sessions themselves, Brett D'Aoust always kept a very chill and relaxed attitude which in return made me more comfortable during sessions. The relaxed environment allowed me to not worry and feel anxious to speak out about things that I would like to share.
As the sessions progressed, so did I and Brett D'Aoust made sure to point it out every time, which really was appreciated.
Overall, I am very happy with the counselling that I received and would highly recommend him to anyone that I know!
Again, thank you for everything!

Brett is always there to listen and understands how you are feeling very well. I signed up for counseling due to my mental health affecting my ability to study for the MCAT exam. My favorite part about Brett is he seems to know the fine line between letting my vent and keeping me focused. He lets me vent my frustrations but has a way to shift the focus back to the MCAT and keeps me from losing sight of my goal. If he hears me talking about something unhelpful, he quickly says “no, no” and resets my focus. This has been extremely helpful and it taught me how to stop negative thoughts and refocus. Thank you Brett!!

Brett is amazing person and professional. I wasn't sure exactly what I am looking for, I was lost, scared and frozen in inability of understanding myself and my own thoughts or emotions. After only few talks with Brett I start to feel in control again.
