About me

My name is Brett Peppe, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LCADC) in New Jersey. I have over five years of experience in the field of mental health and currently work at a non-profit mental health agency as a co-occurring substance abuse counselor. I primarily work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety and/or other mental health problems as well as co-occurring substance use problems.

I recognize that taking the first step into counseling is often the most difficult. I work hard to help my clients feel understood, supported and empowered from the door and throughout the journey that follows. Together, we will work as a united team—helping you to achieve your goals.

I received my Master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and my Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Neuroscience Psychology. I participated in one year of post-graduate training in gender, sexuality and sex therapy. I also have experience coordinating a team of Lead Responders to provide psychological first aid in schools, as well as other youth serving organizations, to support students and staff in the aftermath of a traumatic event or loss. While I have served on this team for the past five years, I have been lucky enough to coordinate the past two.

If you are searching for guidance, wellness, and/or need help overcoming a challenge in your personal or professional life, I would be happy to partner with you during this process of change.

Brett is a superb clinician that brings a wealth of knowledge and attention to his attention. He is knowledgeable of various therapeutic modalities and is able to adapt to your specific needs. I’m honestly immensely grateful that I was matched with him as he has been quite amazing in helping work through some of my struggles while providing space to just talk.

Brett is an outstanding therapist. He helps establish achievable goals, and offers a variety of techniques to sift through thoughts and feelings to achieve those goals. He is extraordinarily responsive with thoughtful messages. It's clear that he is listening and tracking what his clients say over many sessions
