Brian Bakalar

(M.A., NCC, LPC)

About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois and a Provisional Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, problem gambling and substance abuse. I have also provided on-site trauma support for individuals and organizations.

My counseling style is non-judgmental, relaxed and honest. I truly believe in treating people with respect and compassion. I understand each client presents with specific goals and expectations and I am aware that progress toward change may take time, but it is something we all strive for. My approach combines client-centered, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution focused, and rational-emotive counseling. It is essential for me to use our time together to work with you to meet your specific needs.

I know that reaching out for support might be challenging, but taking this initiative is a big step in the right direction. When you are ready to talk, I am here to help you reach your personal and professional goals.

I look forward to speaking with you soon!

Brian is absolutely an amazing counselor. He is very genuine. Truly listens to what you are saying without forcing a general solution onto you. Very adaptable to what you are personally going through and replies accordingly. One of the best out there!
