Brian Cook

(MS, NCC, LPC)

About Me

I believe that the role of counselors is to ensure clients feel heard, respected, and validated and in turn offer supportive and constructive feedback to help individuals gain greater insight and understanding. Therefore, I use a mix of compassionate techniques and problem solving strategies to aid individuals in problem resolution and management of their difficulties. This enables and empowers the individual to have control and direction in their lifestyle.
My Basic Philosophy and Treatment Focus
I usually try to "meet the person where they are at". What this means is I first like to help the individual identify both their needs and strengths and then progress and grow from there. The methods of growth come from well researched therapeutic techniques typically grounded in forms of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, problem solving, and solution-focused methods.

Brian's advice and help has been extremely helpful and has had a big, positive effect on me. He has helped me see things in a clearer and more rational way... The right way. Thank you Brian.

I reached out to BetterHelp because I needed to get sound feedback and help with what I was experiencing. Brian Cook helped me see things about myself that I may not have seen if I did not reach out to BetterHelp. Thank you, Brian.

Brian is great and very intuitive. Within the first week, Brian was able to get to some of the core issues deeper than I thought. I was ready to tackle them and we have made great progress. Brian comes highly recommended. I needed someone to challenge my views of various circumstances and he has been able to do that effectively. Brian is highly skilled and very good at what he does.

Brian has been very kind and made every effort to understand what was going on for me. I enjoyed his counselling style, which was a mixture of talk therapy and strategies from CBT. Brian is helping me to develop a stronger connection to myself, exciting work!

Brian has been very attentive to my needs. He is completely understanding and quite quick to reply with very constructive comments. I am very thankful to have been connected with him and I look forward to continuing on a path together that hopefully leads to better mental health for my self.
