Are you striving to find satisfaction with your work, life or relationships? Do you want to focus on fixing immediate problems rather than unraveling past hurts? Do you want to build a strong foundation for your current or future relationship? Have you grown tired of being treated like a problem and not a person? Do you prefer to work with a therapist who can relate to your challenges? I get where you’re coming from, and I’m here to help.
I primarily take a narrative approach to counseling. Narrative therapy begins with the premise that you are not the problem; the problem is the problem. The way we see ourselves can be defined by the language that we use. I see my role as a co-author, helping you develop an alternate personal history so that you may move forward with courage and confidence.
After hitting mid-life doldrums in my mid-40s, I enrolled in a graduate program in clinical psychology. Since then, I have collaborated with men, women and couples in a variety of settings to re-story their lives. Just as I turned mid-life blues into a new, rewarding trajectory, I want to help you find joy and fulfillment.

Brian Hayes is the first therapist who actually understands where my emotions stem from before I even have to tell him! He asks me questions, I simply reply, and from my responses he gets a deep understanding of where I'm coming from. Its a relief to feel like someone is listening!
