About Me

Are your anxious thoughts making it difficult for you to get tasks completed or worse, paralyzing you? Do you, despite your best efforts, feel stuck? Do you doubt who you are and question your purpose in life? Do you find yourself denying what you really want because of guilt or shame? If any of these resonate for you, I can help.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington state and have a Master of Social Work from Simmons College. The majority of my clinical experience comes from working with adults living with severe mental illness. I have worked in outpatient, residential, inpatient, and jail-based settings, and currently work in an outpatient eating disorder clinic and in private practice. I specialize in helping individuals overcome problems related to identity, self-worth, and relationships. I also enjoy helping individuals overcome problems related to anxiety and depression, substance use, life transitions, and chronic illness.

I practice from an anti-oppressive, harm reduction, and trauma-informed approach and am most informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I am also informed by my personal experience with chronic illness and changing careers. You have come this far... let me help you overcome the suffering that has brought you here.

Brian is a supportive counselor who makes me feel comfortable in facing my personal challenges. He actively listens and gives thoughtful, timely responses that help me reframe my thinking. I am able to address negative patterns with his encouragement and guidance, even within the short time we've conversed. If you need someone to speak with as an equal and collaborator, he is your person.
