Brianna O'Connor

About Me

Hello! My name is Brianna O'Connor. I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over three years, with a total of 7 years of experience working with families, adults, and adolescents. I am passionate about working collaboratively with my clients to find meaningful healing. In my work, I often incorporate mindfulness practices, narrative therapies, art, and music-- whatever expressive medium works best for YOU in coming to a deeper understanding of yourself in your quest for change. In addition, I am trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, grief and trauma interventions, and trauma-sensitive yoga, among others.

My approach is fundamentally client-driven; you are the expert on what works for you. I am here to listen without judgement, to ask meaningful questions, and to hold you accountable to your self-identified goals. I come prepared with a tool box of skills and strategies that can help you navigate the ebb and flow of life. Our work is to apply these evidence-based practices to your unique needs. The foundation of this work will be a trusting relationship between me and you, therapist and client, that is characterized by warmth, authenticity, and empathy.

As a social worker, my approach is based on the "person-in-environment" paradigm. This means that as we explore your unique narrative, we will also use an intergenerational lens to consider the cultural and social factors that have impacted you, your family, and your community. I am a white, cis-gendered woman with extensive experience working with people whose identities differ from my own. It is my task to practice humility and self-awareness in order to provide the particular support you seek.

If you feel we may be a good fit, I would love to hear from you! I look forward to learning more about you and to embarking on this journey of change together.

Brianna is the best therapist I've found out of 5 others between my boyfriend and I. She provides a truly supportive, non-judgemental approach and seems very knowledgeable of evidence-supported treatment options. She is extremely responsive and always has plenty of availability. She goes above and beyond- I was ready to quit betterhelp until I found her. Highly recommend.

Brianna has been a great therapist! We have only had 2 sessions so far, but they have already been super helpful. She is very attentive and has a way of making you feel your worth. Quite amazing!
