Dr. Bridget Rutigliano, LPC
About me
Hi I'm Bridget! I was born and raised in New York and am currently living in Tennessee so I have experience in with working with individuals from both big city and rural areas . I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) designation and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I am also working towards my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. I hope to one day teach our future generations of clinicians better ways of approaching behavior while also supervising individuals working towards licensure.
I am passionate about helping others understand their thoughts, behaviors, and stress responses while supporting them on the road to resilience. My first step in the counseling process consists of creating a safe place to connect and get to know you in order to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. Establishing trust is important in the therapeutic process because it when we establish trust that we see true behavior change. My goal as a therapist is to partner with you to uncover the purpose behind all the difficult behaviors. My approach is to guide you, using tools designed to help you appropriately express needs and emotions. Just as we are taught how to read and write, we need to learn how to identify what we are feeling and express our emotions appropriately.
Every person is different, which is why my approach will be tailored to meet the needs of the individual. I enjoy working alongside of my clients to figure out the purpose of the behavior in order to extinguish it and find appropriate replacement behaviors.
Life is too short to be unhappy, unsure, or unfulfilled. I am here to help my clients achieve a more positive outlook on life, and provide them with all the tools necessary to get them there. Let me help you learn and develop better ways to handle the issues that are standing in the way of your goals.
I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you!
