About me

Hi! My name is Brita. I am a social worker with a masters degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; I am a board certified clinical hypnotherapist. I also am a classically trained therapist with training in Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems. When working together, you can choose to use the clinical hypnotherapy protocol or you can choose talk therapy. Whatever you choose, you will receive cutting-edge treatment with a solutions-focused emphasis to unveil and heal the answers you already have within you.

Clinical hypnotherapy is an excellent therapy for working with people with anxiety and anxiety-related physical issues, like stomach aches and panic/anxiety attacks. Using clinical hypnotherapy, I have worked with people with anxiety, depression, trauma, school-related stress and more. People usually reach their treatment goals in 3-4 months (or about 12 - 16 sessions!) We can unveil and resolve the origin of your problem, which in turns heals your symptoms. In hypnosis, you are in complete control of your experience. You have permission to freely discover what is at the heart of your struggles and fortify your true self to heal and grow. It is time to step in your peace and power.

If you prefer talk therapy, I am also experienced in evidence-based treatments for anxiety and depression such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and behavioral activation (BA).

You bring a unique and valuable experience into my practice; my job is to facilitate and guide you as you self-discover. Working together, therapy is a place of healing and growth, and an opportunity for you to find the answers that you have been searching for.

Brita is very understanding and super nice! She makes me feel like my feelings are valid and that they aren’t stupid. I’ve only been talking with her for a short time, but she has helped me a lot so far.
