Britta Barlogie, LMHC
About me
Hi and welcome! My name is Britta and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with you to create a new way of relating to yourself and the world around you.
I’m sure you’ll agree, everyone deals with stuff. Sometimes it’s a pebble and sometimes it’s a heavy load. How we handle the struggles that life deals us is relational, and that’s what I’m here to help you with. I’m here to help motivate you through whatever issue or transition you’re facing in life and get you to a place where you can love yourself as you are. Relational healing therapy harnesses authenticity, humor, curiosity, and acceptance to move you through your transitions.
While the process can seem hard, we work together as a team to find your happy(er) space. Your healing process is unique so we’ll discover the treatment that fits you best. While I am trained in both Dialectic Behavioral Therapy as well as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, MY happy space is in a relational approach. I have found through years of work that the basis of healing is built on connection and community. It is here that one can harness the power to tackle other obstacles. I have come to this understanding through my own experiences - my childhood, personal loss in Hurricane Katrina, and creating a togetherness during this pandemic - and it continues to be my focus without fail.
Put bluntly, my life force is best harnessed when helping people heal and it is my top priority. Through my years of countless interactions with mental illness, addiction disorders, body dysmorphia/eating disorders, and severe trauma, I’ve learned that communication comes in many different forms and I’ve worked hard to create an open line of connectivity with my clients.
I’m honored to work with amazing people and help them on their journey to self-love and self-acceptance. And now I’d love the opportunity to work with you!
XOXO,
Britta
