About me

Hello, and welcome to my profile. I understand that taking that first step and reaching out for support can be anxiety inducing for some, so my goal here is to give you enough information about me that hopefully this process can be a little more comfortable. My name is Britta Hadden, I have been providing direct services in a variety of settings for over 8 years now. I’ve worked in community based mental health organizations, school settings, crisis stabilization agencies, community corrections, and animal assisted therapy programs. I grew up in California where I received my bachelors degree in Sociology from San Francisco State University, before moving to Colorado to pursue a masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of Denver. I have made Colorado my home and am licensed as a clinical social worker here.

My approach to counseling is solution focused, with elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, positive psychology and trauma informed care. I find that solution focused interventions bring hope to individuals who are struggling with many of life’s challenges, and empowers them to identify their own strengths as well as solutions that they already have access to. I also use elements of CBT and mindfulness practices to support clients in identifying harmful or distorted thoughts and modify automatic thoughts in order to overcome destructive or distressing thoughts and behaviors. I recognize that not every approach or intervention works for every client, so I place great importance on building an open, collaborative relationship with my clients in order to better meet your specific needs. I welcome and encourage your feedback throughout the therapeutic process. I have experience working with a variety of challenges frequently faced by people of all walks of life, including depression, anxiety, life transitions, anger, grief, relationships, parenting, self esteem, motivation and work, family, and life stressors. I have seen small changes bring big results and strive to help my clients identify those changes or actions that will have the greatest impact on their lives.

In my free time I enjoy getting outside in the Rocky Mountains, trail running, hiking, or camping with my husband, our dogs, friends and family. In my own life during challenging times, I have found peace and clarity when out in nature, or when engaged in activities that bring me joy. I look forward to working with you, supporting you in finding solutions to life’s challenges, building on strengths you already have, and seeking opportunities to bring more joy into your life.

Warmly,

Britta
