About Me

Hello! My name is Brittaney and I am a Licensed Psychotherapist. I have a master's degree is Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate University. I lived in Los Angeles the last 10 years, but I grew up in San Diego and I recently moved back in 2019. I was drawn to this field due to my own trauma background and the passion to help others heal and grow through a psychological and mindfulness lens.

I have experience working with survivors of domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault. I have worked with children and teens in the foster-care system as well as families who were at-risk of having their children removed from the home. I very much enjoy helping others heal from trauma and I am Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Certified (TFCBT). I also have experience helping others better cope with symptoms from Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Adjustment/Life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, and other life stressors. I have taught parenting classes and have worked closely with parents who want to learn new parenting skills.

I believe the most important factor in succeeding in treatment is the therapeutic relationship; I want to get to know you as much as I want to help you overcome the life difficulties you are experiencing. I create a non-judgmental, non-threatening, safe space in order for you to share your experiences with me. I believe in collaborating to find small realistic goals while using your strengths as a way to better cope. I also use mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques to better help you to reach your goals in therapy.

I want to praise you for taking the first step in asking for help; it is a very strong and commendable decision! I look forward to take this journey of healing with you!

After working with Brittaney for a year, I can say that she helped save my life. She helped me overcome challenges when I had no other support system, supported me through some of the most difficult moments in my life, and treats me with the utmost care and compassion that I could ask for. I am grateful to her from the bottom of my heart. I have learned so many valuable tools from her that helped me regain my life and sense of self after severe trauma. Brittaney is an incredible person and an even better therapist. She is truly committed to helping others heal. Thank you so much Brittaney for everything, I will remember your care for the rest of my life.

I began working with Brittaney at the beginning of the pandemic when my world flipped upside down. She was incredibly personable and very supportive of my journey with mental health.

Brittaney gave me a plethora of resources that allowed me to grapple with tangible things that only further centered me as a person. I was incredibly lucky to work with her and had I not moved I would most likely still be working with her.

Brittaney has changed my perspective of mental health treatment. She is respectful of my boundaries and only takes things in the pace that I can handle. If I want to move on or focus on a new goal for the week, she is supportive of my self-advocacy. Brittaney is approachable and makes me feel comfortable even with uncomfortable topics.

She has been truly amazing! My growth, learning has grew stronger each day due to her genuineness, authenticity, compassion and understanding of my needs. I couldn't be more happier and stronger since the very first time I reached out. I'm extremely happy I did!

Brittaney and I have only been talking for a couple weeks now and I feel like I am already taking strides in my life. She is all about worksheets/setting goals and I love that about her. I’ve already had 2 friends sign up for BetterHelp because I am so pleased with my experience. Brittaney is a 10/10 recommend.
