I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland and have been working in mental health for 3 years. I currently am a psychotherapist at two private practices, working with adolescents and adults of all ages. I received my dual-master's degree in counselor education, with a focus in mental health counseling, from Clemson University in 2014.
I have experience working with individuals who are living with depression, bipolar disorder, grief, anxiety, and ADHD. I also have experience working with people who may be struggling with adjusting to transitional periods in their life, such as entering college, making a career change, or getting married and/or divorced.
I enjoy working with clients on developing a greater sense of self, while creating and fostering a warm, open, respectful, and interactive therapy space. My approach is a combination of person-centered, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral therapies, while also drawing influences from dialectical behavioral therapy and positive psychology. Treatment planning and interventions are dependent on each individual's needs.
If you are ready to start working to overcome your obstacles in life, I can provide the needed support to encourage and empower you to do so. Change is inevitable, but no one said you must endure it alone!

Brittany has been so extremely helpful with getting me through a tough period in my life and helped me identify underlying causes to my problems. She's punctual, respectful, and easy to talk to.
After seeing Brittany Hackey for about four months she was able to help me with issues I never thought could be resolved, especially after seeing three therapists prior. Our sessions were always progressive and truly supportive. I never once had issues with contacting her or rescheduling. I highly recommend her for anyone struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma-related issues.
During my first session, a live chat, I found Brittany to be non-judgmental and genuine. I’m looking forward to future sessions.
I've only spoken to Brittany over messenger but she still manages to come across as really warm, caring, and compassionate. I feel like our conversations have good structure and direction. This works really well for me and I think is a really efficient way of working through my thought processes and challenging my negative perceptions. I really enjoy speaking with her.
Brittany is a very understanding and thoughtful counsellor. She recognizes my problems and helps me break down the feelings I have and where they come from. She does not judge, only offers to listen and help me understand my actions. She seems to have a great insight into what is happening in the dynamic of my relationship which really helps.
