About Me

Welcome! If you have found yourself here, I believe that it wasn't by accident. You are taking an important step in creating positive change. Whether you believe that you and I would be a good fit to work together, or you stumbled across my page in your larger search, I commend you for taking the first step in your journey.

My goal as a therapist is to help you identify and utilize your strengths while also challenging you to try new approaches that can lead to different experiences. I believe in giving you a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space to explore what's really going on in your life. That starts with helping you develop insight around your struggles and patterns. We then work together to identify and practice ways to move forward and make real and meaningful changes towards the life you want to lead.

Change can be difficult and sometimes scary. It's important to have the right person "in your corner" to help you tap in to your inner wisdom and navigate the challenges that you're facing. I provide therapy for individuals facing a wide variety of concerns. I have a passion for working with clients facing life transitions, women’s issues, relationship issues, substance use disorders, eating disorders, disordered eating and body image concerns. I enjoy helping clients develop self compassion as they identify and harness their unique strengths. Some of the approaches that I utilize in my work with clients include mindfulness, solution focused therapy (SFBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). These approaches lend themselves to both short term work with clients having specific goals and concerns as well as longer term therapy with individuals who might find that helpful.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia and a National Certified Counselor. My educational experience includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Women's Studies, and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University. My professional experience includes working as both a therapist and clinical director in residential and outpatient treatment settings for adults with substance use disorders and eating disorders. I also have experience working with adolescents and adults struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues in a behavioral health hospital setting. My approach counseling clients in recovery includes an understanding of 12 step programs for substance use disorders as well as alternative and mindfulness based recovery approaches. I encourage clients to pursue an approach that will best fit their unique needs.

In my personal life, I enjoy staying active in my personal yoga practice, trying new restaurants with friends and family, and spending time outside with my dog Sadie.

Before finding Brittany, I basically speed dated therapists on this app. I couldn’t find someone just right for me, but I’’m so glad I finally did. She is an amazing listener, offers helpful insight, and always leaves me with some action steps to implement/focus on between sessions. She checks in with me between sessions and is definitely the best of the best. I adore Brittany and highly recommend her as a therapist.

I was diagnosed with adult ADHD in August 2021 and promptly given a Vyvanse prescription by my well-meaning physician. Unfortunately, I kept waiting for the meds to “work” as my dosage was increased each month in an effort to “fix” my problem(s), but to no avail. I only became more anxious as each month went by, seeing some good from the meds but no major difference in my symptoms.

Having read that therapy could possibly help, I found BetterHelp in November and was matched with Brittany at that time. Although I had been hesitant to get counseling, I immediately felt more hopeful after just the first session with Brittany. She is an exceptional counselor and working with her and learning about the ADHD mind and how mindfulness can be a real-world way to respond to its symptoms has been the most life-changing experience of my life. My life makes sense in a way it never did before, thanks very much to the insights I’ve gained while working with Brittany.

It’s absolutely extraordinary to me the difference proper attention to a mental disorder can make, and I am more grateful than I will ever be able to say for my physician’s time during a basic annual exam, which led to the diagnosis, and for the accessibility of BetterHelp, which has given me the essential component of therapy with a professional I trust, respect, and appreciate. Therapy, medication, and mindfulness have proven to be a very powerful combination for me, and I am forever changed and deeply grateful.

I was super apprehensive and worried about taking therapy, But working with Brittany has been wonderful. She speaks to me with honesty that’s compassionate. She’s getting me to talk about things that I didn’t even know were bothering me . I love working with her!

I've been working with Brittney for several months and have seen positive changes in my life. Her professionalism is top notch, and she has been flawlessly kind and patient. Several of her suggestions have been very helpful in my relationship issues, and she has gently nudged me into recognizing and challenging some of my core beliefs. I would certainly recommend her to a friend!

Brittany is very seriously the most competent and proactive counselor I’ve had the privilege to work with. I am so glad I went with my instinct and chose her out of all the therapists on this app. She does the leg work part of therapy I feel so many others have not done. I wish she’d been around earlier in my life!

Work with me!
