About Me

My name is Brittany and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New York. I typically describe counseling as a form of organizing your thoughts. Often when we are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, our thoughts become tangled and it can be hard to see the forest from the trees. Working with a counselor allows you to see your life and thoughts from a different perspective. I use an ecological perspective when working with clients, which means that I take into account the ways their environment(s) impact who they are and what they experience.
When working with new clients, I help them determine a goal to work towards. Together, we develop a game-plan and strategize realistic ways to accomplish those goals. Goals can include things like reducing anxiety, improving family relations, improving financial habits, etc.
I have experience working with adults of all ages, especially those struggling with anxiety and adjusting to life transitions. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and I tend to integrate elements in my counseling style.
