About me

Brittney R. Ramos, MA., LPCC is a life-long resident of San Miguel, NM. Her upbringing exposed her to the needs and lack of resources in small, rural communities. Brittney graduated from Gadsden High School in Anthony, NM and pursued her education with intent of providing culturally appropriate guidance to under-served populations. She attended New Mexico State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Family & Child Science in 2011 and her Master’s Degree in Counseling & Guidance in 2013.

Her training includes facilitating family wellness community classes, counseling services to elementary students within the public school setting, college age students at New Mexico State University and primarily Spanish speaking patients within a federally funded healthcare agency.

In her career, Brittney has focused on empowering her clients to overcome challenges by promoting strength, growth and resiliency. Providing individual, family and group therapy, Brittney uses an integrative approach to include strength-based, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and physical well-being. In addition, her work with clients has included guidance in decision making, improving depression/anxiety symptoms, increasing self-esteem, trauma-focused recovery, adjustment to change, substance use recovery and establishing healthy family dynamics.

Brittney’s ultimate counseling goal is to provide safe and compassionate care to her clients as well as reducing mental health stigma and increasing help-seeking behaviors in her community.
