About me

I am a holistic psychotherapist who works from a trauma informed approach. I promote wellness for all as I believe that if we can identify the source of our emotional challenges, we can address them and feel better. In our time together, we will develop realistic coping mechanisms that we can utilize when feeling distressed. My clinical expertise and abilities are in bipolar disorders, depressive and anxiety disorders, post partum depression, grief and loss, self-esteem/self-image challenges, social anxiety, anger management, relationship challenges, work/life balance and stress reduction. In addition, I am able to work with Survivors of Domestic Violence, Trafficking Survivors, Victims of Crime (assault, intimate partner violence, sexual assault) to address immediate crisis challenges and issues around Post Traumatic Stress and regaining balance and healing from the experience.

Serving as a Social Worker for over 15 years, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Maryland and District of Columbia, Certified Domestic Violence Advocate, Level 3 Victim Advocate Specialist and Employee Assistance Program Provider. I believe in creating positive professional relationships with my clients through motivational interviewing and keeping in the mind the voluntary service model. I am your guide but you drive how the sessions go. The majority of my clinical expertise is in trauma and depression. In addition, I work is with those who have been severely victimized (domestic violence/sexual assault), gone through a significant loss or abused from childhood.

Life is always full of ups and downs. The older we get, the more complicated life gets. The ups make us feel accomplished, positive and fulfilled BUT the downs may not have such good feelings attached to it. The down moments in life may lead us to feel "off our game", defeated, overwhelmed, anxious, lonely, depressed or more. Down moments can feel like they last forever but with the assistance from me, these moments can be processed in a safe, confidential and supportive environment. In counseling with me, we will focus on the mind, body and spirit, and return an emotional space that allows to you feel good again. We will identify the challenges/concerns, process and together we will develop the goals needed to resolve conflicts.

Receiving counseling can at times seem intimidating. Many feel that counseling is only for those who "have something wrong with them". That is not true, counseling is an opportunity to process life with another person who is outside of your personal life who will not be biased. Sessions are not meant to be depressing (although there will be times we will have to dig deep in order to resolve the issues) they are meant to uplift. The positive is that you will have the opportunity to work with me, a seasoned, knowledgeable, experienced clinical counselor. I believe in meeting people where they are, our sessions will be private to respect your confidence, judgement free, and comfortable to allow you the opportunity to freely speak as you may and gain the support you are in need of.

I am available and flexible. Ready to serve.
