How to let go of stress and the habit of overthinking? Why is it so difficult?

I understand there isn't a concrete solution for these things, but I have been going through a permanent sadness since last month. How to let go of some feelings? How to calm myself that my future cannot be controlled? Why do I always have to think so much about every little thing? As much as I try to, I just worry about my future.

Momo,

Thank you for submitting this question.

It sounds like you have much sadness. Sadness does not have to be permanent. You will have to decide that things will become different and start working towards that difference. You need to identify where and how the sadness entered into your life. What is the incident that occurred that triggered the sadness. Sadness can come in thru offense. Sadness is feeling of deep distress caused by loss, disappointment, or other misfortune suffered by oneself or others. As you search within yourself, you may need to identify the source of your sadness. I will say that some of the sadness that you are experiencing is warranted, but you have to learn that there are some things that are out of your control. The things that you can control are your choices and your behaviors. Letting go of feelings can be difficult especially when you are tied to the situation or the offense. Forgiveness is powerful! Forgiveness of offenses and forgiveness of self is key to this breakthru! This is also a personal choice and you must decide if  you want to "let things go" or "keep them going". This decision is not up to others, but up to you. What is the thing that you believe needs to take place in your life that will remove the sadness?

On this issue of worry...Worry will paralyze you. Worry keeps you stagnant. Worry leads you to doubt and a negative outlook in life. Worry will drain you and cause you to loose focus on what is good. Think on good things and good memories. Think on things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, and worthy of praise. If there is anything of excellence and worthy of praise, we are to think on these things. If you have a mind that "over thinks" this would be a good assignment for you to find 3 things that fit into this category that you can begin to think on and focus on that for the next 7 days and document the change.
