Will my anxiety ever get better?
Hello I hear you,
Anxiety does tend to be persistent. Anxiety sometimes follows the life patterns we have grown up with and or accepted over time. It is usually good to take a look at the source of your particular struggle. As we study our thoughts regarding the beginning point of the negative feelings we experience, we may find some triggers that are possible to avoid.
There are some elements of your anxiety that you revealed in the question. I might recommend that you take a fresh look at at the things that do bring you hope, and things that you look forward to. This might include relationships that you treasure and or activities that you particularly enjoy. You may find that as you focus on the fresh look at your life. The hopelessness tends to begin to evaporate possibly, and you could feel more and more hopeful about your days.
Another element that you mentioned is loneliness. Sometimes to stay in a lonely place is what we do without giving it much thought. It may be helpful to find some togetherness with trusted people at your home or at work or with some friends that reach out to you. As we notice the place of loneliness from a tree top view it could give us a fresh look at the opportunities before us that we may have missed from the forest floor view.
Finally, your anxiety can improve as you acknowledge its existence. Just know that an element of anxiety is good for us. Anxiety keeps us safe from going toward something dangerous. Even if it is a feeling that we can't quite make out, a clear thought, it can be a warning that something is off. Pay attention to the voice that warns us away.
The anxiety that occasionally troubles us is an indescribable fear, there is actually not a real threat like a bear or tiger to run from. It can be the constant pain of a relationship or something that we feel broken in our life.
As we began, yes these anxious feelings can be persistent, but they can decrease and will evaporate as it were, when clear sources are identified. When we notice the feelings that are troubling and express these with a trusted person and test to see if these things are a real danger or they are something we might nave neglected that could be properly addressed and resolved over time to change that anxiety for the better.
I hope that helps,
Philip
