I don't know what I want in life
Good morning there, thank you for your question to us here at Betterhelp. I have read that you are currently selling your bakes as a way to provide an income for college tuition fees. It feels like a really innovative and delicious way to organise your finances.
I would begin to identify what your overall goal is at this time? Is it to complete your college course with as little debt as possible? I do realise that keeping on top of finances can be really stressful and at times be on your mind all the time. I wonder if having a clear idea of your goal can help with how to progress forward. Could we look at ways to break down these goals to more manageable tasks so that the feeling of burnout does not come around undetected? I would feel it could be beneficial to look at ways to develop self care methods that will work along side you as you work towards those goals. I would point out that you have already started this process by coming and asking for help, its a brave and scary thing to do and I don't take your concerns lightly at all.
I would also want to explore with in sessions why your passion has burnt out? could this be because you goal may have changed without considering why? this could have a knock on effect on motivation and how the lack can feel so frustrating for us when we are trying to achieve.
I would hope we could look at ways to motivate yourself when you are experiencing these feelings. Could we look at ways to plan out how to manage the workload of the bakes so that you do not feel so overwhelmed but yet still feel a sense of accomplishment.
I would also like to consider the feelings you have around not doing enough and the anxiety we can feel when we do not perceive being productive enough. I think these thoughts can stay with us on a constant basis and can effect how we rest as we are feeling guilty for not always being on the go.
I would also feel it could be useful to look at ways in which you can be gentle with yourself when making all these decisions and to know that you are not alone, sometimes the process of counselling can also help with straightening out thoughts and ideas with the aid of another to listen.
I do hope we can work further together on these important concerns. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards Jo
