Why do I feel like this?
Hi Red, thank you so much for asking your question today on this platform. I want to stress to you and add a specific disclaimer that this service is not meant or intended to treat, sure, diagnose or otherwise offer a mental health consultation, assessment or appointment. This is simply a resource that allows for a psycho-educatioanl experience. Please consider seeking an actual therapist in mental health for specifics and customized help, assistance and care.
You mentioned that somedays you are either really sad and it is hard to get out of the bed because of your mood and other days you are angry and irritable and you feel like you hate the things that you love on those days. My thoughts are that it must be hard to have fluctuating emotions like this where you cannot find a steady temperament? How long have you been experiencing the changes in mood and swings back and forth? I think it could be helpful to grab a journal or a notebook that you designate to write down your thoughts and feelings when you feel these ways and keep a log on the behaviors and actions that match these particular moods. It also can be helpful to see if there are any similarities with these triggers. Seeking out books on mood regulation and personal and self development might be a healthy coping skill to apply. You can get books from your public library or bookstore.
It may be a good time to see if counseling is right for you by exploring your options with services available either in person or online. Support groups can also be a nice way to talk with others who have similar needs or presenting problems that can offer up their thoughts and share their own stories and situations too. I would also suggest looking into what brings you joy if there are things in your life that uplift you or give you a reprieve from stress or harmful thoughts. It might be a good practice to look into what those things might be and begin applying them to your life as you are able to and see fit.
I am wondering about your personal support network. Do you have people in your life that you feel care enough to help and listen? If so, it may be good to let them know what you are going through so that you can gain some people who are aware of your needs. If you ever feel like you are in crisis please do not hesitate to use emergency numbers for assistance. I hope that this helps quite a bit as you navigate solutions.
Red, thank you again for reaching out and getting some thoughts out on your needs and getting your question answered here today.
