I’m depressed , I’m getting a divorce , I have a lot of pain , I also have a drinking problem . My feelings are so confusing. Also just wanted to know if you took my health insurance so I can speak to a counselor. This is all new to me.I don’t understand how my life took a turn for the worst. I was married for 41 years and due to my drinking my husband wants a divorce.

I am sorry that you are going through a divorce. It certainly is very painful. It can get overwhelming to deal with everything. Drinking itself can have its own effects, but with time and effort you can get over this.

I suggest that you seek help from individual and group counseling to resolve your drinking issue. There are many supportive sites that can help you with this dependency. One example is alcoholics anonymous. These groups can give you strength you need to overcome this dependency.

I also want you to focus on all aspects of your well-being. This includes your mental health, physical health, social health, and spiritual wellbeing. For your mental health you should take individual counseling to help you with the divorce process. it is a painful process and the healing process takes time and effort. For your physical health, you should eat a balanced diet and exercise regularly. This should become your lifestyle and will also help you with your dependency. For your social well-being, I suggest that you look for positive people around you who can become your support system. For your spiritual health, you can work with your therapist to find out the meditation technique that suits you. If all these aspects are taken care of you will see much growth and will be able to overcome dependency and emotional pain from a long term relationship breakup.
