How can I trust myself to make good decisions?
I'm so glad you reached out by asking your question. That is a great first step. It sounds like you have a lot of decisions coming up and you want to be able to trust yourself and making these decisions.
When making decisions, whether they're easy or difficult, it is always good to process it out. You can do this by journaling about it, doing a Pro-con list or a brain dump of everything that's on your mind about the decision. This helps you in processing your thoughts. It's important to make sure you're not being led by feelings as feelings often change it is good to use the left part of your brain, which is your cognitive part and more rational part of your brain. So by putting it on paper or typing it out. You are accessing the cognitive part of your brain.
Talking to people that you trust and value their opinion can also be helpful with the process. It is important though to not just go off of what other say, but for you to explore what it is that you are thinking about by doing the above.
Sometimes sitting with a decision that you chose can also be helpful, so it doesn't feel reactionary can also make you feel better about the decision.
Connecting with a counselor through BetterHelp is never a bad idea either. The process of talking to somebody who you don't know and is unbiased can be really helpful.
You mentioned being afraid. A lot of times when people are afraid they don't do things that are best for them because staying without change is easier and less scary. Taking that leap of faith by making a change is scary but often times worth it. It is important not to not do things because we are afraid.
again, I am so glad that you reached out for guidance by asking your question. I encourage you to write out your thoughts and create a pro-con list so that you can organize all that is on your mind would be very helpful. Make sure you are making the decision that is best for you and not avoiding things because of how others may feel or because it is scary. You've got this!
