Hi Tea,

Thank you for your question!  Unfortunately, society often dictates the notion that "money makes the world go round."  Similarly, in corporate settings an individual is wrongly defined by what they do and how much they make.  While finances are important in order to guarantee survival, money is not everything.  Certainly, such accepted societal notions dismiss the unique dignity and fundamental characteristics of an individual human being.  Suffice to say, a person is comprised of many more fascinating and intricate details than simply their accumulated net worth.  Taking solace and merit in understanding what makes you, you, can help to offset any feelings of defeat, despair, or insignificance that might arise within oneself.

When considering action steps to assist with enduring financial hardships, there are some options in existence that might help boost overall self-esteem and self-worth.  Seeking the services of a Financial Social Worker is a potential asset that is often overlooked or not explicitly known of by many.  Accordingly, a Financial Social Worker can better assist with organizing funds, while assessing Mental Health related needs, as well.  Establishing a realistic budget with a Financial Social Worker can often assist with fueling monetary saving endeavors.

Perhaps, more practical, is the simple tool of categorizing or separating the thoughts/financial abilities into the categories of: "what is realistic and what is idealistic."  What are you absolutely able to do in accordance with your defined budget and what are unrealistic expectations that are creating unnecessary pressure or stress on oneself.  Eliminating any stressors that are completely related to one's own expectations for oneself, serves as an important first step in gaining traction.

Depending upon one's physical health status, working ability, and overall wellbeing, acquiring a part time/per diem occupation that is remote might help to offset costs in a less demanding way.  Truly, the internet has provided us with an entire world of possibilities to explore.  Utilizing employment search engines like Indeed.com or Glassdoor.com might provide opportunities that fulfill a vocational and occupational longing.  Identifying something that you enjoy doing as a hobby or have held as a creative dream might provide some clear guidance and direction in moving forward.  Ultimately, recognizing and realizing who we are as well as our fundamental inherit worth, will forever serve as a priority.  In addition to pursuing the provided recommendations and utilizing the considered tools, remaining firm in who you are as a person and recognizing the non-financial assets that you have, will always produce more wealth than any financial endeavor.
