Body language is important in oral communication because it allows for communication amongst individuals without saying anything out loud. Body language is a great skill to master when actively engaging in oral communications with another individual. The use of body language to communicate with others can be quite useful in oral communication because it can allow the speaker to communicate any non-verbal communication orally. Body language in oral communication allows individuals to communicate by effectively understanding and deciphering the meaning of any non-verbal body language as a means of better understanding whether the unspoken communication is positive or negative.

Body language and or non-verbal communication can be used to add additional strong points to a speaker's and or presenters' communication with individuals in their audience. Researchers reported that body language and non-verbal communication make up a high percentage of communication between individuals as they communicate without actually speaking a word out loud. Due to the lack of an actual word or sound being used, body language and non-verbal communication continue to widely be used amongst various cultures, with most individuals completely understanding what the speaker is trying to communicate and or inform the other individual about due to the cross-cultural understanding of somebody language and non-verbal communications.

Body language can be very important in oral communications. It can also be quite beneficial in allowing individuals to establish a connection and/or bond that can help ease tension or issues before they arise. Speakers and or presenters must practice and be proactive when scanning a room and or a crowd of people before, during, and after a presentation. Body language and/or non-verbal communication are great indicators of allowing the speakers to see what the audience needs and the other way around. The audience and or crowd can also be more proactive when observing the speaker's body language and or non-verbal communication as a great indicator of the speaker.
