How do I feel positive or move on

I cheated on my boyfriend, getting into an emotional trap of some person. He got to know it and broke up with me. He's still talking to me but is full of anger.

It can be hard to confront difficulties in our intimate relationships and navigate other peoples feelings and emotions.

When we have an affair it is usually a sign that our needs are not being met and we are unable to communicate this to our partner, so we look outside the relationship.

Whatever made you look outside your partnership, consider what the other person represented to you and why you fell for them.  It seems, by what you have said, you were trapped but it also seems you were trapped in the other, actual relationship.  Maybe you have had a history and experience of feeling or being trapped and gravitate towards people who trap you.

Your boyfriend broke up with you yet he is still communicating with you, this must be difficult as neither one of you know where you both stand, is this the end of a romantic relationship and the start of a platonic one?  If so, how does that make you feel and is this what you want?

You mention that your ex-boyfriend is still in touch but full of anger, it sounds as if he feels betrayed, but has he considered his part in the breakup?  He continues to speak but he is angry, it seems he might be trying to work out what happened.  Has there been any talk of reconciliation?  If there has, is this something you want?  As your question was quite brief, I do not know the history or timeline of your relationship and if this is something you are both willing to fight for.

I wonder if you are still in touch with the person you had the affair with?  If so, one would wonder why?

I guess, this is a critical time for you and your partner and your relationship.  Do you want this to go ahead and to build something meaningful, and can your relationship survive this rupture? Do you even want to repair this?

This is a time of reflection, on why the affair happened, your feelings of being trapped and what you have learnt from this moment and, ultimately, what you will do next.
