Can I have an initial conversation to figure out if therapy is right for me?

When I am in a good head space I don't think I need any help and I think I am being dramatic when I'm in my bad times. My bad times are increasing and are getting worse every time but then it goes away and I go back to thinking I don't need help. I just wanted to have an initial conversation to figure out if therapy is something I need.

From the information in your question, it does seem like therapy would be a very good idea at this time. Your "good" days seem to be more of just being able to push the "bad stuff" down. The problem is that we can only do that for so long before our brain stops allowing it. When that happens, you are looking at something much more difficult than a bad day. You can have a total breakdown where your brain gives up for awhile because of the stress that is not being dealt with consciously. Your body and brain are basically telling you that you need to do something about this "bad stuff" before it gets to the point of causing bigger problems.

Plus, I believe therapy can be beneficial for anyone as it's never a bad thing to understand more about yourself and why you do things like you do. I think you would need to look closely at the options regarding the therapist you match with and see if it looks like they are able to handle the problems that you are dealing with as well.

Bottom line, I think therapy is a very good idea for you at this time and you have some options regarding how to try it out.
